The F4 Phantom became one of the most famous fighters of the Cold War.

An American designed aircraft was adopted by many nations.

This example was operated by 43 Squadron from RAF Leuchars in Scotland.

Its primary role that of an interceptor of Russian 'Bear' bombers who 'test' UK air

defences during the Cold War.
